Position Summary

The Event Staff position is responsible for supporting all aspects of catered events, from pre-event preparation and load-out through guest service, event tear-down, return to the kitchen, and cleanup. Event Staff represent Bonafide Bites professionally by providing exceptional service to clients and guests and working collaboratively with the team to ensure successful event execution.

This position requires flexibility, professionalism, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist wherever needed. Every member of the Bonafide Bites team contributes to both guest-facing service and behind-the-scenes responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Event Preparation, Transportation & Load-Out

Load, organize, and transport all items necessary for successful event execution, including but not limited to food, beverages, equipment, tables, linens, décor, serving ware, and supplies.

Drive a personal or company vehicle, when assigned, to travel to and from the kitchen, event venues, and other work locations while safely transporting personnel, food, equipment, and supplies.

Assist with verifying that vehicles are loaded accurately and securely prior to departure.

Event Setup

Safely unload and transport equipment and supplies into event venues.

Assist with event setup according to company standards and the needs of each event.

Prepare event spaces, equipment, and service areas for successful event execution.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional event appearance.

Guest Service

Provide courteous, professional, and attentive service to guests.

Perform assigned food and beverage service duties in accordance with company standards.

Anticipate guest needs and assist in maintaining a positive guest experience throughout the event.

Respond professionally to guest questions and requests.

Communicate guest concerns or operational issues to the appropriate Bonafide Bites team member.

Represent Bonafide Bites with professionalism at all times.

Event Operations

Work efficiently and collaboratively with team members to ensure events run smoothly.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

Demonstrate initiative by identifying tasks that need attention and offering assistance without waiting to be asked whenever appropriate.

Adapt to changing event needs and assist wherever needed to ensure successful event execution.

Event Tear-Down & Return

Break down event spaces, equipment, and service areas.

Properly pack and load equipment and supplies for return to the kitchen.

Return to the kitchen following events to unload equipment, complete cleanup duties, and prepare for future events unless otherwise instructed.

Unload, organize, and properly store equipment, supplies, and other event materials upon return to the kitchen.

Kitchen Cleanup

Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, food carriers, and catering equipment.

Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces and equipment.

Sweep, mop, remove trash, and assist in returning the kitchen to operational readiness.

Properly store cleaned equipment and supplies.

Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts.

Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the Event Staff Uniform Policy.

Practice excellent personal hygiene and safe food handling procedures.

Treat clients, guests, coworkers, vendors, and venue staff with courtesy and professionalism.

Communicate professionally with clients, guests, coworkers, and team members.

Communicate respectfully and work cooperatively as part of a team.

Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Protect the Company's reputation through professional conduct at all times.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

Employees must:

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Have reliable personal transportation to travel to the kitchen, event venues, and other assigned work locations.

Be willing and able to operate a personal or company vehicle for work-related travel when assigned.

Successfully pass a background check.

Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.

Be capable of performing the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to:

Stand and walk for shifts that may last 6–10 hours.

Frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift.

Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Use appropriate team lifting techniques or equipment to safely move heavier items when necessary.

Load, unload, transport, and move catering equipment, tables, food carriers, and supplies.

Safely operate motor vehicles as required for assigned job duties.

Travel regularly to event venues and other assigned work locations throughout South Central Indiana.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work safely around commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, ranges, fryers, steam, knives, slicers, mixers, and dish machines.

Schedule Expectations

This is a part-time, event-based position.

Work schedules vary based on booked events and employee availability.

Evening, weekend, and occasional holiday availability is expected.

Weekly hours are not guaranteed.
