EVENT STAFF
UNIFORM POLICY
Effective July 2026
Professional Appearance

At Bonafide Bites Catering, our appearance is an extension of the experience we provide our clients. Our uniform is intentionally simple, clean, and understated. We are there to support the event, not become the focus of it.

The goal is a polished, hospitality-focused appearance that allows our team to blend seamlessly into a wide variety of event styles, from corporate meetings to elegant dinners and private receptions. When in doubt, choose attire that is sleek, professional, and timeless rather than trendy or casual.

Event staff are responsible for providing their own uniform within the guidelines below. This allows each employee to choose clothing that fits comfortably while maintaining the professional appearance expected of our team.

Not every acceptable garment can be specifically listed in this policy. Ownership reserves the right to determine whether an employee's attire complies with these standards and may require an employee to change clothing that, while not specifically prohibited, does not present the professional image expected of our team.

Approved Attire

Shirts

  • Solid black.
  • Button-up shirts are encouraged, as they generally provide the most polished appearance.
  • Professional blouses, knit tops, or polos may also be worn, provided they maintain a polished appearance.
  • Approved chef coats, in either short- or long-sleeved styles, may also be worn.
  • If you are interested in wearing a chef coat, please contact ownership before purchasing one. We are happy to provide a link to our preferred style to help ensure a consistent appearance across the team.
  • No patterns, graphics, visible logos, contrasting stitching, or decorative embellishments.
  • Made from quality fabrics appropriate for professional hospitality service.
  • Clean, freshly laundered, wrinkle-free, and in good condition.

Pants

  • Solid black dress pants or other professional-style slacks.
  • Professional woven fabrics are expected.
  • Denim is not permitted, regardless of color.
  • Pants should fit appropriately while allowing comfortable movement.

Skirts & Dresses

Solid black.

Professional appearance and an appropriate length for hospitality service.

Bare legs are not permitted. Black or nude pantyhose or opaque tights must be worn.

Shoes

Mostly black, closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.

Plain black leather sneakers or professional hospitality work shoes are acceptable.

Shoes should be comfortable, clean, and in good condition.

Non-slip work shoes are strongly encouraged.

Fit & Presentation

Clothing should fit appropriately and maintain a polished, professional appearance. Oversized, baggy, or sloppy-looking clothing is not acceptable. Traditional button-up shirts are expected to be tucked in. Tops designed to be worn untucked may remain untucked if they are an appropriate length and present a neat, tailored appearance.

Athletic wear or activewear, including leggings, joggers, performance fabrics, moisture-wicking athletic apparel, and similar garments.

Traditional athletic or running shoes.

Uniforms must be:

Freshly laundered.

Wrinkle-free.

Free of lint, pet hair, stains, odors, and excessive wear.

In good repair, without holes, fraying, or missing buttons.

Employees are expected to:

Maintain good personal hygiene.

Wear minimal fragrances, as many guests have allergies or scent sensitivities.

Keep hair neat and secured as necessary for food safety.

Follow all applicable food safety requirements regarding jewelry, hair restraints, and personal hygiene.

If you are unsure whether an item meets our uniform standards, please ask ownership before your shift. We are happy to review potential uniform choices in advance to ensure they meet our appearance guidelines.
