Sorority Team Member Uniform Policy

Sorority Team Members work in commercial kitchens located within client facilities. Uniform standards are designed first to support food safety and workplace safety while also maintaining the clean, professional appearance expected of employees representing Bonafide Bites.

Employees are expected to arrive for every shift clean, appropriately dressed, and ready to work. Uniform clothing must allow employees to safely perform normal commercial kitchen duties, including cooking, cleaning, lifting, bending, reaching, and working around hot equipment.

Employees are responsible for providing clothing and footwear that meet the standards below. Company-provided Bonafide Bites shirts are an approved uniform option but are not required for every shift. A clean, plain black shirt that meets this policy is equally acceptable.

Not every acceptable or prohibited garment can be specifically listed. The Campus Manager or Bonafide Bites ownership may determine whether clothing, footwear, accessories, or personal presentation meet Company food safety, workplace safety, and professional appearance standards and may require an employee to correct an issue before beginning or continuing work.

Shirts

• Company-provided Bonafide Bites T-shirts, chef coats, or plain black shirts are approved.
• Plain black T-shirts, polos, or other shirts appropriate for commercial kitchen work may be worn.
• Shirts must be clean, freshly laundered, in good condition, and appropriate for food-service work.
• Shirts must provide appropriate coverage while bending, reaching, lifting, and performing normal kitchen duties.
• Plain black shirts may not display visible graphics, slogans, patterns, or non-Bonafide logos.

Pants

• Long pants are required at all times. Shorts are not permitted.
• Chef pants, kitchen/work pants, or other durable long pants appropriate for commercial kitchen work are permitted.
• Pants must fit appropriately and allow safe, comfortable movement while bending, lifting, reaching, and performing kitchen duties.
• Denim is not permitted, regardless of color, including black denim.
• Leggings, yoga pants, pajama pants, sweatpants, and other pants not appropriate for commercial kitchen work are not permitted.

Shoes

• Closed-toe, closed-heel, non-slip shoes are required at all times.
• Footwear must be appropriate for commercial kitchen work and securely fitted to the foot.
• Shoes must be clean, in good condition, and provide adequate protection and traction for work around hot liquids, grease, wet floors, equipment, and other kitchen hazards.
• Open-toe shoes, open-heel shoes, sandals, slippers, and footwear without appropriate non-slip soles are not permitted.

• Hair must be appropriately restrained at all times while working with or around food.
• Hats, caps, bandanas, or other appropriate food-service headwear must be worn as required to effectively restrain hair.
• Long hair must additionally be tied back or otherwise secured so that it cannot fall forward or contact food, equipment, or work surfaces.
• Facial hair restraints must be worn when required by applicable food-safety standards or Company procedures.
• Employees must follow all applicable food-safety requirements regarding hair restraints, fingernails, jewelry, watches, personal hygiene, and other personal items.

Employees are expected to arrive for every shift clean, well-groomed, and wearing clean clothing appropriate for food-service work.

Uniform clothing must be:

• Freshly laundered and free of noticeable food residue, grease, or stains.
• Free of excessive wrinkles, lint, pet hair, and excessive wear.
• Free of noticeable smoke, body odor, or other strong odors.
• In good repair without holes, significant fraying, or other damage that creates an unprofessional appearance or safety concern.

Good personal hygiene is required. Employees should use minimal fragrance, including perfume, cologne, body spray, and heavily scented personal products, because fragrances can interfere with food service and may affect coworkers or house members with allergies or scent sensitivities.

Except for Company-provided or Company-approved branding, clothing, headwear, footwear, accessories, or other items worn while working may not display graphics, slogans, messages, or imagery that are inappropriate for a professional workplace or client environment.

Offensive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, profane, drug- or alcohol-related, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate content is prohibited while representing Bonafide Bites.

• Employees must comply with all Company food safety and sanitation requirements while working.
• Clothing, accessories, hair, fingernails, jewelry, and other aspects of personal presentation may not create a food-safety or workplace-safety hazard.
• Employees may be required to remove or secure jewelry, accessories, loose clothing, or other items when necessary for food safety or safe equipment operation.
• Employees should arrive in full compliance with this policy and prepared to begin work at their scheduled start time.

Employees who are unsure whether an item meets these standards should ask the Campus Manager or Bonafide Bites ownership before wearing it to work.

Employees who report to work in clothing, footwear, or personal presentation that does not comply with this policy may be required to correct the issue before beginning or continuing work. Repeated failure to comply with uniform, food safety, or professional appearance requirements may result in corrective action in accordance with Company policy.
